SIAS (Superimposed Image Analyzer Software) is a complete solution for sperm motility analysis. Delta Sistemi has created an automatic and interactive software that makes it easy for you to standardize your work by controlling the data collection and image analysis during the assay run.

SYSTEM MODULES

An upright microscope with 20x objective for brightfield observation.

A sperm counting chamber without grids.

A high resolution Monochrome or Color CCD camera.

A Personal Computer.

A high-speed frame grabber.

The acquisition and analysis software SIAS.

THE SOFTWARE

The software digitalizes the microscope field at a resolution of 512x512 pixels, which correlates to an area of 200x200 microns. SIAS allows you to set the number of frames the system will acquire during a period of time you’ve designated.

Generally, an acquisition of a stream of 25 or 50 images is collected in 1 or 2 seconds, and a total of 10 or 20 streams are collected for each experiment.

Sperm analysis is simple; you have only to set a threshold sperm and the software does the rest. The software “follows” all of the sperms along their paths calculating each analysis parameter.

ANALYSIS PARAMETERS

DCL - Distance of the curved line.

DSL - Distance of the straight line.

VCL - Speed on the curved line.

VSL - Speed on the straight line.

LIN - VSL / VCL.

% of Non-Motile Sperms.

% of Shacking Sperms.

% of Non-Progressive Sperms.

% of Normally Progressive Sperms.

Computed data can be exported to any spreadsheet, and it also can be imported into a powerful a database for further archiving.

The database allows the incorporation of patient or subject data, plus data coming from other instruments like pH, viscosity, and so on.
